The EasyBusiness team led comprehensive efforts to create a free market for agricultural land in Ukraine. We demonstrated that lifting the moratorium on land sales could become a significant driver of economic growth. Through economic and legal analysis, we established that its removal could boost GDP by 1.5% annually and attract $40 billion in investments.

Our advocacy efforts included over 20 analytical documents, direct interactions with policymakers, and a nationwide campaign reaching over 5 million landowners through 100+ public forums and educational initiatives.

We also provided landowners with legal and informational support to prepare lawsuits for the European Court of Human Rights. EasyBusiness’s efforts were recognized both nationally and internationally. In 2019, the organization received the Europe Liberty Award for its significant contribution to land market reform and economic freedom advocacy.
