Dmytro Lyvch spoke about the prospects of land reform in Ukraine in the context of European integration in a comment for Deutsche Welle.
“I want to highlight three key elements for European integration and strengthening Ukraine’s agricultural sector – the need to introduce a modern and efficient mechanism for the consolidation of agricultural land, the ability to use land plots as collateral when obtaining financing, and access to the land market for EU citizens to prevent discrimination,” said Dmytro Lyvch, head of NGO EasyBusiness.
Land reform in Ukraine is ongoing. Experts from the consortium of companies Civitta, AEQUO Law Firm, and EasyBusiness are developing the Concept for the Harmonization of Ukraine’s Land Legislation with EU Law and Other Advanced Legal Practices for Land Relations Regulation within a project initiated by the USAID Agricultural and Rural Development Program – AGRO.
The concept will provide proposals for aligning Ukraine’s legislation with leading European practices, and its implementation will enhance the efficiency of the agricultural sector, contribute to environmental protection, and improve farmers’ access to financial resources.
