The team of NGO EasyBusiness, with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation and with informational support from the Center for Economic Recovery, held the event EuroDialogues: “How Can Ukraine Strengthen the EU’s Strategic Autonomy? Economy, Regional Development, and Cross-Border Cooperation.”
During the event, research was presented on Ukraine’s potential to replace Russian and Chinese exports in selected sectors and value chains, as well as the accompanying effects of investments in Ukraine on EU border regions (Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania).
Experts from EasyBusiness analyzed the experience of multiple EU candidate countries, current EU member states, and international practices to formulate a negotiation framework for Ukraine’s EU accession. Key commodity groups and EU value chains were identified where Ukraine can contribute to reducing the EU’s dependence on imports from China and Russia. The results of this research can already be used to strengthen Ukraine’s competitiveness.
The studies “Impact of European Investments in Ukraine on the Development of Bordering EU Member States” and “Recommendations on the Negotiation Framework for EU Accession” were conducted within the framework of the project “Analytical Support for Ukraine’s European Integration and Integration into EU Value Chains”, implemented by EasyBusiness with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation and with informational support from the Center for Economic Recovery.
