A study visit to Brussels within the framework of EU4Business: SMEPIS project
We continue to strengthen and develop Ukrainian SMEs. Ten representatives of business support organizations took part in a study visit to Brussels, returning with new insights, valuable contacts, and practical tools to support the growth of Ukrainian enterprises. The visit was organized under the EU4Business: SMEPIS project.
Key meetings during the three-day business intensive included:
- European institutions: DG GROW, DG REGIO, DG MOVE, DG ENER, the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency. Discussions focused on tools for SMEs and regional development, “green” and digital logistics pathways with DG MOVE, and grant opportunities within the European Innovation Council and EISMEA.
- European business associations and support organizations: BusinessEurope, Eurochambres, Lewiatan, the SUP Representation in Brussels, and the EU Business Hub. These meetings centered on business interest representation in the EU, fast-track B2B connections, and synergies to promote “Made in Ukraine”.
- Other stakeholders: At the Mission of Ukraine to the EU and the Employers’ Group of the European Economic and Social Committee, participants explored public-private dialogue and European integration opportunities. With the Region of Murcia Brussels Office, Flanders Investment & Trade, Germany Trade & Invest, and the European Policy Centre, they learned how regions transform investment opportunities into practical projects.
Why does this matter for Ukrainian business?
- New partnerships mean new markets.
- Better understanding of the rules of the game.
- A stronger voice for Ukrainian business in Europe.
The study tour to the EU was organized under the EU4Business: SME Policies and Institutions Support (SMEPIS) project, implemented by Ecorys in consortium with GIZ Ukraine, the Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO), and Civitta, with financial support from the European Union. Information partners: the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and EasyBusiness NGO.
